When my mother developed cancer throughout her body, her family watched as she died a horrible, wasting death. I was devastated and incredulous. I asked myself, "This is medicine? This is all they've got?" I vowed to find a better, more natural way to heal the human condition. Finally, in my early twenties I began to experiment with herbs and, later, vitamins and foods to bring my body back to health naturally.
In my 30s I went to a seminar on healing and met a woman who took one look at me, wrote her name and number down on a piece of paper, gave it to me, and said, "If you don't call me soon you're going to be very sick." She was a prominent speaker and business woman who was also a Cherokee Medicine Woman whose expertise and knowledge of the old ways of living, loving and healing were passed on to many of us who were taught by her. Her name was PaRisHa and I have worked and studied with her for over 20 years. I was indeed becoming sick. It was something I felt coming on for a long time. After working with her with something called Breath Therapy, I was never as sick as I could have been. Breathing out the emotions that are held in the endocrine system clears the trauma and stress that accumulate in the body over a lifetime.
I have learned many forms of healing since then, but will never forget the healing experience from the breathing therapy. They say when the student is ready, the teacher appears. I had never gone looking for a teacher - she found me! I was far too ignorant of even the fact that there were teachers that people went looking for! PaRisHa's teachings and her practical way of living and looking at life helped me to change mine. And for the better. Now I'm teaching what she gave to me so you, too, may understand who you are, what you are capable of, and how that affects your role in life.
Another teacher comes to mind - my first where herbs was concerned. Her name was Sandy and she was the picture of health even though she had had cervical cancer. She got rid of it in two months using water therapy and herbs. Even before she told me how she did it I was hooked on natural remedies. Imagine how I felt after she explained how she healed herself of cervical cancer!
What I learned through the years about illness would fill a book or two, maybe even three. I've decided to write articles instead and post them to this site. You can find them under the Search by Ailment and Article Archives links on the left of this page. They will cover everything from how to get rid of colds and flu in just hours to how I balanced Lupus, the SARS virus, Bronchitis and Pneumonia, kidney stones, Diverticulitis, pain in the ovaries, stomach acid and Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease, Strep-throat, foot and wrist pain, neck and shoulder pain, elbow pain, heel pain, hip pain, all joint pain, urinary tract infections, and more. What I've learned over the years is what doctors used to know.
Recently I went to see a Board Certified M.D. that went holistic. He put me through all sorts of tests and when I went back to him a week later for the results he asked me what I was doing there and told me I didn't need him. He said he had never seen anyone come into his office with the results I had and that my immune system was phenomenal. I had no allergies, my blood sugar was good, and my pH was good. He said, "You obviously know what you're doing!"
Over the years I was so passionate about natural medicine that I became a Naturopath, Certified Natural Health Professional, a Master Herbalist, and a Licensed Massage Therapist located in Medina, Ohio. I have over 8,000 hours of body work including Neuromuscular release, myofascial release, positional release and post-isometric muscle release techniques, Orthobionomy release techniques, Shiatsu, Meridian therapy, Reiki, Chapman's Reflexes (lymph drainage), Reflexology, Upledger's CranioSacral Therapy, Touch For Health therapy, Theta and Nuwati Healing energy work helping local people with all of their muscle aches and pains.
I travel and teach Body Wisdom and intuitive healing to individuals, businesses, and corporations who want to use natural health to keep themselves and their employees healthy and reduce sick time in the work place. I also teach seminars on advanced release techniques to licensed massage therapists.
Natural herbs and supplements are endangered by government and pharmaceutical companies trying to take them away from us. If that happens, there will be no recourse other than the drugs that only drive up the price of the pharmaceutical companies' stocks. So, if you're not aware of what is happening in this area, you should read the book written by Byron J. Richards, a Certified Nutritionist, entitled Fight For Your Health...Exposing the FDA's Betrayal of America. You will be enlightened.
