Dangers of Store-Bought Toothpaste
There was a time when I would just buy any shampoo on the store shelves. I really didn't want to buy the shampoos and conditioners in the stores because the ingredients are scary. Basically, anything you can't pronounce should be avoided either in or on your body. The skin has this amazing capacity to soak up anything you put on it which is why things like the patch for smoking and birth control work. So I was always afraid to put a lot of chemicals on my head or on my body.
As recently as two years ago someone sent me to purchase organic hair products from a local company who made their own shampoo and conditioner. I started using the shampoo, but at the time I colored my hair with the hair color products on the market, all of which changed the structure of my hair so it felt like cardboard when I used the natural shampoo to wash my hair. This was the main reason I stopped using chemicals to color my hair, because of the way my hair felt when I washed it with the natural shampoo. It just didn't feel right. Then I had to wonder what I was continually putting on my head and I became more aware of the chemicals in the shampoos that were on the market.
Chemicals in our body naturally move or "sink" down to the lowest point in our bodies because everything is affected by gravity. Is it any wonder then that we have so many diseases of the reproductive organs? Chemicals that start out on top of our heads don't have anywhere to go but down. As they move down, they filter through all of the organs of our body, leaving traces of their chemical residue in all of our organs, then settle into the organ(s) at the lowest point of the body. Knowing that practically everyone I know colors their hair, even if they don't have the gray, I wondered about natural Henna for hair. The more I read about Henna, the more I liked the concept of color wrapping itself around the strand of hair, coating it with color and also protecting the hair. The color itself lasts about 3 months. No chemicals, completely organic. Why not? What is the advantage of using so many chemicals on your head when we're full of chemicals in our environment anyway. Do we really need all those chemicals to wash with and to brush with?
I'm for a chemical free environment. So here are some of the most chemical free products for hair that I know of. Go Natural. Let's send a message to the people in charge of our health to let them know what it is we do not want to put in or on our bodies. Our environment is already laden with chemicals that are the cause of everything that is going wrong in nature. From the killing off of bees to the ridiculous rates of Autism in our children, chemicals affect us on every level.
