Dealing with Food Allergies

Not only can you feel food allergies when you eat, but.allergies and cold and flu symptoms are related. Balancing your allergies is instrumental to stopping cold and flu symptoms.

People go to their doctor to be tested for food allergies and sensitivities and pay lots of money for the allergy tests when they can test themselves right at home. People also spend a lot of money on cold and flu remedies when they may benefit more from herbs and vitamins. Millions are spent on allergy testing, cold and flu remedies, and doctor visits - it has become a big business.

I help people learn how to listen to their bodies. One of the ways I suggest they do it is to eat by themselves, turn off the TV, radio, and other noise makers, and just listen to how the body responds to food. Since we are a social lot we love to have conversation with our food. That's fine, but when you're testing for food allergies it is important to be still while eating.

The next time you sit down to eat, go somewhere quiet. Let people know you don't want to be disturbed. Sit quietly and center yourself. Now, take a bite of food and feel the effects of it on your tongue. Wait while you chew, then swallow. Feel the effects of the food as it goes into the stomach. The reaction to the food will be immediate if there is going to be a reaction. You'll feel a tingling on your tongue if there is an allergy to it. Your body will respond with a negative feel and your body tone, that's right, the tone to which you normally resonate will waver and another discordant tone will be heard if you are still enough. Foods that you respond to in a positive way will not affect your tone or your tongue. By being still, as in prayer and meditation, you may learn to listen to your body.

Another thing that is important in this day and age is to bless your food. With all of the third world people coming into the country, the incidences of Hanson's Disease (Leprosy), Hepatitis C, and Tuberculosis are on the rise once again because many people coming into our country find jobs in fast food restaurants. Blessing our food is imperative now more than ever.

The way to bless your food is by holding your hands on each side of your plate. You don't have to be conspicuous about it. Now, just be still and focus your attention on the food. The energy in your hands will immediately raise the vibration of the food and if you have honed your feeling skills you will feel the food change in vibration. That is all you need. The blessing is done when you feel that shift. You have just raised the food to your vibration. If the food does not shift, be wary of eating it. Only wholesome food makes the shift change. You cannot get nutrients from tainted or diseased food.

According to Dr. D. LePore, N.D., the reason we have allergies in the first place is due to a sodium deficiency. We're not talking Sodium Chloride which is also known as table salt. We're talking about natural sodium that the body makes when we eat vegetables and fruits.

A well-known fact: The body is 80% alkaline and 20% acid, but our diets are 80% acid, 20% alkaline. Is it any wonder we have allergies and toxic build-up in the system?

Alkaline foods include most fruits and vegetables. Acid foods are all the rest. The only alkaline nut is the almond so we may eat at least seven almonds each day. Nuts and seeds feed the endocrine/glandular system so they are good to eat and we need good fats.

The best way to stay healthy is to eat 45% cooked fruits and vegetables daily, 30% raw fruits and vegetables, and 25% of everything else. Notice that it is not necessary to stop eating everything else, just eat more of the cooked and raw fruits and vegetables.

We eat more meat protein than our bodies need. If you know what your blood type is you will benefit from reading "Eat Right For Your Blood Type" by Peter J. D'Adamo who writes that people with blood type A should be mostly vegetarian anyway. The reason is because people with this blood type do not have the hydrochloric acid in their stomach to break down meat protein. If this is the case, make sure you are taking Food Enzymes. Meat proteins that are not broken down usually end up stored in the body as lumps, bumps, cysts, and tumors. For this kind of problem it is best to take something called Protease Plus or Protease High Potency between meals, and while taking Food Enzymes with your meals. Remember that protein comes in many forms, not just meat. However, if you happen to be vegetarian or Vegan, be sure you are taking a good amino acid complex such as Free Amino Acids from Nature's Sunshine.

The milk lobby is huge and powerful, however, keep in mind that we lose the enzyme to break milk down when we are around two years of age. Cows have four stomachs to break down milk, we have one. The two-leggeds are the only species who drink milk after they have been weaned from it. It has been researched and found that people who drink milk products or eat ice cream daily have a plastic-like coating in their aorta - which is the cause of back pain. Children on dairy products are more prone to ear problems from mucus build-up. Wrist pain (carpal tunnel) has been linked to dairy products. A lack of Potassium will cause an allergy to milk products. A good source of usable Potassium comes from Alfalfa and Bee Pollen.

In his book The Ultimate Health System, Donald LePore, N.D. says that all allergies may be linked to a deficiency of the natural sodium from fruits and vegetables and if you are allergic to many of the fruits and vegetables, it may indicate a deficiency in Potassium. It is very important that sodium be available in the body to buffer acids. If the body runs out of its supply of sodium it begins to pull calcium from the bones. Calcium was not meant to be a buffer of acids in the body and when it is the main buffer due to lack of sodium you generally see the beginning of Osteoporosis in the bones.

Raw juice sources of sodium are celery, carrots, okra, spinach, strawberries, apples, asparagus, beets, cucumbers, gooseberries, plums, radishes, Swiss chard, and turnips. Other good sources of natural sodium are Kelp, Irish moss, olives, dulse, and celery.

If you have pain on the right side of the body, you have a Potassium deficiency. If you have pain on the left side of the body, you have a Sodium (not table salt) deficiency.

I'm not just quoting from a book, I've actually tested this theory on clients who have come in with sciatic pain down their legs or who have had low back pain. An elderly client called with complaint of extreme pain down her hip and right leg. I asked if she had some Potassium and she did. I told her to take one tablet every hour until the pain subsided. She didn't call me for two days so I called her back and asked if her pain was still there. She said she took the Potassium as suggested and "didn't know if that was what helped or not but the pain went away." I mention this lady because she wasn't convinced it was the Potassium because it was too easy and people aren't sure it should be that easy.

The importance of Sodium and Potassium for the body may be seen in your mirror. Look in the mirror. If the right side of your mouth dips downward, you have a Potassium deficiency. If the left side of your mouth dips downward, you have a Sodium (not table salt) deficiency.

The best way, the safest way to get Sodium and Potassium into the body without disrupting the balance of minerals if by taking Trace Mineral tablets.

The chart below lists "Food Allergens and Their Neutralizing Nutritional Antidotes" and comes from the book The Ultimate Healing System by Donald LePore, N.D. The best way to use this chart is to stop eating the allergy causing foods for two weeks while taking one, two, or all of the antidotes for the allergy causing food and at the same time taking Stomach Comfort as directed on the bottle. At the end of the fourteen days your food allergy should be completely gone or very minimal. Click on the suggested Vitamin, mineral, amino acid, or herb in the chart to order from the on-line store.

Allergies to the above foods may cause many and varied health problems, including headaches, colds, and flu-like symptoms.

In my research I have found that cravings for foods generally mean the body is calling attention to one organ and that organ is malfunctioning and calling for more attention. It does that by generating a signal that we pick up as a craving. When my kidney was malfunctioning I was craving salt. When my pituitary was malfunctioning I was craving fats. When my liver or gall bladder malfunctions I crave chocolate. It is interesting how the body speaks to us.

Shortly after my pituitary malfunctioned I got this horrible headache that reverberated through my whole head and my sinuses closed up. I had what doctors would term the flu with flu-type symptoms. I started treating the symptoms with my usual: lots of liquid chlorophyll to get the natural sodium I thought I was lacking, Trace Minerals, Vitamin C, and Calcium to balance my pH. While this all worked, it didn't take the headache away. I remember being in my holistic doctor's office and he was muscle testing me two weeks prior to this flu. When he touched my pituitary, my arm went down, signaling that my Pituitary was malfunctioning. I was alerted instantly that this was not right, but put it in a drawer in the back of my mind.

With the racking headache continuing I had to pull the memory of the muscle testing of my pituitary out of the memory drawer. In checking what happens when the pituitary is not working properly, I read, "If and when there is a nasal drip or continuous mucous discharge from the nose, it is usually caused by a leaky Pituitary gland. This continuous nasal drip can also drip down the throat into the chest while sleeping, causing an excessive accumulation of phlegm in the chest."

This was exactly what was happening. I knew I had to strengthen my Pituitary gland to work properly. The Pituitary is the master gland of the body and if it is not working properly then all the other glands may become imbalanced. I took the nutrients that would jump start my Pituitary gland and within hours I felt the racking headache go away and my sinus drainage all but disappeared. Trace Minerals worked, as did the Vitamin E and B-Complex. For the amino acid, L-Ornithine was recommended, which I took at night. I slept the whole night without incident.

Remember that a deficiency in Sodium will cause allergies to most everything. If you find it difficult to eat fruits and vegetables, then taking Liquid Chlorophyll or Chlorophyll Capsules daily will provide lots of natural sodium. Just don't take it around mealtimes because it will alkalize the stomach and you need acid to help break down your foods at mealtimes.

Also, if you are allergic to greens that give you the natural Sodium, it is an indication that you are Potassium deficient. Trace Mineral Maintenance or Mineral Chi are your best bet to correct these imbalances in your system. Once these Mineral imbalances are corrected, your body will function and feel better because Minerals are needed for all bodily functions, to activate enzymes needed to break down foods and digest, and also help the muscles to relax and release.
